Type GUL Portland Limestone Cement
Type GUL is produced by intergrinding 5-15% of limestone with clinker, reducing the clinker content in the finished product. Since clinker production is the most carbon-intensive stage of the cement manufacturing process, that reduction lowers the overall carbon footprint of the ordinary Portland cement. Our Type GUL Portland Limestone Cement meets C150, C595, and CSA A3001 specifications.
Same Job, Smaller Footprint
GUL performs similarly to GU cement in mix design, placing, finishing, and strength standards used across general construction applications. What differs is how the cement itself is made: a higher proportion of limestone replaces part of the clinker, and since clinker production is the most carbon-intensive stage of the process, the cement contributes to a lower carbon footprint in concrete.

Why it belongs in the mix
Reduced clinker content, which lowers the carbon intensity of the cement.
General-use performance across a broad range of concrete applications.
Familiar handling and placement, with no relearning required on site.
A straightforward route to lower carbon targets on a project.
Held to the same quality control and verification as every product we make.
