When I arrived at St Marys Cement in Port-Daniel-Gascon, what touched me most was how welcome the people made me feel and how easy it was for me to fit in. Working for the Votorantim family has been a dream of mine ever since I was young, because this company is recognized around the world for the vision and mission it promotes.
I began my 25+ year career at VC (St. Marys plant) in the co-op program and worked my way through a variety of positions to the one I’ve held for the past 13 years as Mining Operation Supervisor. As a 4th generation employee, I’m grateful for the opportunities to grow at a company that strives to maintain a safe, successful and stable operation.
I greatly appreciate Superior for giving me the opportunity to work for the company. I’ve been able to explore different avenues to expand my career, take on new tasks, and become much more organized and dependable. The environment is positive, the crew is great to work with, and I see myself growing into other positions within the company.
This company has given me all the tools and training I need to be successful in my position with room to grow. The challenging work and goal-oriented leadership has made me a better person. Being part of this team and the company culture makes me enjoy coming to work and doing my best every day.
