Eco-Efficiency & Innovation

​We believe that cement, concrete and aggregates production requires a commitment to improving natural resource allocation, controlling emissions and reducing waste. The company invests in R&D to develop new technologies and improve existing ones to promote eco-efficiency in our processes and products, protect water sources and help preserve biodiversity. One such example is an Algae Bio-Reactor Sustainability Project located at our cement plant, in St. Marys, Ontario, Canada. In partnership with the National Research Council of Canada and Pond Technologies, we're exploring the viability of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from industrial facilities, transforming these emissions into valuable products including biofuels, fertilizers, and animal feeds.
